Hello friends ,International students are allowed to carry 3 check-in baggage (23 kg each max) and 1 cabin baggage (8 kg max). This is exclusively for F-1 visa holders, other visa holders can carry only 2 check-in baggage and 1 cabin baggage.
Almost all the airlines have this offer. Call the airlines personally to know the procedure to avail this offer as each airlines have different procedures. Mostly, it should be filling an online form asking your passport and visa number. Check your itinerary before confirming booking to see if you are allowed to carry 3 baggage.
For AIRINDIA airlines
The airline allows 3 check in baggage for student visa holders. Just go to the nearest Air India office with a copy of your passport, visa and ticket. They will give you ‘Extra Baggage tickets’ which is to be produced to the checkin counters in the airports. You’ll need to pay around Rs 620 for this and you’ll receive the ticket in 1 hour max. This ticket is applicable to all the flights in the journey (AI, Delta Airlines, American Airlines) .

(3 baggage each 23 kg max and 1 cabin baggage 7 kg max).
1. Go to the link (Check destinations first, given in the page).
2. Fill in the form below and click on ‘Submit‘.
3. Search for your preferred flight using the dedicated booking widget on the landing page that you are re-directed to.
4. Click ‘Search for Flights’ and complete your booking. Your Excess Baggage will now be included in your booking.
5. Check the itinerary before making payment. It should specify 3 baggage.
6. Make payment. Check e ticket also, that it specifies 3 baggage or call the Qatar Airways office to check if their systems indicate 3 baggage.
